Sheffield (2-3 days per week)| [Contract]

Lead the definition and delivery of secure middleware configuration standards across the enterprise, spanning technologies including WebSphere, WebLogic, Apache, Tomcat, nginx, and Node.js. You'll set capability strategy, drive compliance, and work closely with architecture, security, and service teams to keep middleware platforms secure and resilient.

What you'll do:

• Define secure configuration baselines across major middleware platforms
• Partner with SMEs to build compliance checks and remediation guidance
• Define and maintain capability strategy in response to regulatory, technology, and threat evolution
• Own and prioritise the capability backlog based on value and business objectives
• Evaluate and adopt new technologies impacting the capability's risk posture
• Work closely with Control, Service, and Technology/Platform Owners on performance, defects, and uplift roadmaps
• Monitor and report capability performance through agreed metrics

What you'll bring:

• 5+ years' in-depth experience across multiple middleware technologies (WebSphere, WebLogic, Apache, Tomcat, nginx, Node.js, etc.)
• Demonstrated middleware platform security experience
• 2+ years leading a technical team
• Strong understanding of CIS benchmarks
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills — able to translate technical concepts for business audiences
• Customer-centric, consultative approach with strong analytical/problem-solving skills

Nice to have: CISSP or equivalent certification.
